Child Safety & Safeguarding Policy
Effective Date: 10-12-2025
At MumGuardian, protecting children is not an add-on — it is the foundation of our platform.
MumGuardian is a purpose-built educational environment designed to help children learn about digital safety, ethics, and responsible behaviour without exposure to risk, surveillance, or harmful online interactions.
We are committed to:
- Safeguarding children from harm
- Protecting children’s privacy and dignity
- Supporting parents and schools without intrusive monitoring
- Creating a calm, ethical, and secure learning space
Child safety guides every decision we make — from platform design to content creation.
This policy applies to:
- Children using MumGuardian (ages 6–17)
- Parents and guardians
- Schools and educators
- All MumGuardian staff, contractors, and content contributors
It covers:
- Online safety
- Platform design safeguards
- Data protection for children
- Reporting concerns
- Compliance with child protection standards
MumGuardian is intentionally designed to remove common online risks rather than manage them after the fact.
What MumGuardian DOES:
- Provides educational content only
- Delivers age-appropriate lessons and resources
- Requires parental or school-based access
- Uses privacy-first architecture
What MumGuardian DOES NOT allow:
- ❌ No public profiles
- ❌ No chat, messaging, or comments
- ❌ No social networking features
- ❌ No user-generated content from children
- ❌ No behavioural tracking or analytics on children
- ❌ No advertising or third-party profiling
This approach significantly reduces exposure to:
- Grooming
- Cyberbullying
- Peer pressure
- Exploitation
- Harmful content sharing
MumGuardian goes beyond legal requirements by design.
- We do not collect or store children’s personal data
- We do not track behaviour, progress, or usage
- We do not create digital profiles for children
- We do not use engagement metrics or attention optimisation
Child access is controlled by:
- Parents (for family accounts)
- Schools/teachers (for educational access)
This ensures children can learn without surveillance, scoring, or pressure.
MumGuardian supports — but does not replace — adult supervision.
Parents and Schools are responsible for:
- Creating and managing access credentials
- Supervising children’s learning where appropriate
- Using MumGuardian materials responsibly and ethically
- Discussing lessons offline to reinforce learning
MumGuardian provides education and guidance, not enforcement or monitoring.
All MumGuardian content is:
- Educational
- Non-graphic
- Age-appropriate
- Respectful and culturally sensitive
- Free from fear-based or exploitative messaging
Content is designed to:
- Empower, not frighten
- Educate, not overwhelm
- Encourage reflection, not dependency
Lessons involving sensitive topics (e.g. bullying, scams, online harm) are handled carefully and responsibly, with a focus on:
- Awareness
- Emotional safety
- Seeking trusted adult help
